This week the Oscars of the airline world look place during the Farnborough Airshow in the UK.
According to the Skytrax website, the Skytrax World Airline Awards are coveted Quality accolades for the world airline industry. Travellers from across the globe take part each year in the world’s largest airline passenger satisfaction survey to decide the award winners. The World Airline Awards are a global benchmark of airline excellence, and widely known as the Passengers Choice awards.
Dubai’s Emirates was the big winner at the ceremony after being named the World’s Best Airline for 2016.
Another huge title that airlines fight for the right to claim is World’s Best Cabin Staff and this year Garuda Indonesia maintained the title for the third consecutive year.
Take a look at the top 10 list and see why Garuda Indonesia has a right to hold their head high after coming out on top of this elite list of cabin crew.

Emirates cabin crew should be number 1 not 10
make sure to vote for next year 🙂
We flew Emirates from Rome to Perth 13/7/2016 and I didn’t think very much of the service we received from the crew. They all looked grumpy and the way they interacted with us was just short of impatient. I asked for water and it took me a few times of asking before I got it. The attendant light was ignored most times as crew walked by. My headphones were faulty and I asked for another one. Never received it. This was on a 14 hour flight. I fell asleep waiting. Would have liked to watch the movies that we paid for. The food was not very good either. My chicken was hard as rock with a pretty salty sauce. Water was not served often and when it was the attendant would almost scramble pass as if to avoid serving. So I am very surprised they got any awards. Must Hv paid for this honour? Wouldn’t recommend flying Emirates.
Hi Sharon, sorry to hear you have had a bad flight with this airline. My advice is write to Emirates ASAP. Give them all the flight information and the managers of that flight will have to answer for this poor service. I know that’s not their standard, but you get bad crew at all airlines.
had the same with emirates, even in business, fly now oman air, very in the business from europe to asia
Kenya airways crew is the worst in the world
Sorry you had a bad experience with them
where is Turkish Airlines?
They’re in Turkey 🙂 They won best airline in Europe but their cabin crew didn’t make the list this year. Maybe you should vote so next year they’re there
Yess,,,agree
Only the Asians have grace n good hospitality …. l guess
Well Qatar and Emirates crew are from all over the world, so not just the Asians 🙂
Very proud that Asiana is listed in the top 10, cheers!!
To tell you the truth I always fly with Cathay Pacific Airways, just for their safety record. The service? I don’t consider they are one of the best inflight service provider at all. My last few experiences flying with them proved that….
I have heard they have slipped a bit on their service, but all the polls still show they’re one of the best
Air New Zealand has to rate up there with the best????
They do, I’m sure. I love Air New Zealand crew
I think Turkish Airlines has best cabin crew but surprised not to see in this list. Hope to see next year
let’s see
I had a flight once with Garuda Indonesia, from Jakarta to London. Their staffs were absolutely amazing… I have 2 personal flight attendants who were taking care of me during the flight. And the chef came to me personally to take my order… it’s very easy to ask them anything you want, and the hospitality is no joke, they were very nice and they kindly explained anything to me since that was my first experience flying in the first class… even after my flight, i remain friends with some of the crews, we took a selfie before i leave the plane
These are cabin crew rating, means you have to encounter one(s) to be able to judge properly. My suggestion is to try flying with no 1, then you’ll feel it at heart… the warm glow…
As of #3, meh… they are fakes… all the smiles are fabricated… you can feel their hidden deep snob inside…
There are real and fake at every airline. Their Service at Singapore is given the way the company wants, robotic
I am satisfied about service of Singapore Airlines.
Noticeably absent are any American carriers – I can’t say I have had very good luck on US carriers with the exception of Delta. I personally think it has to do with the age of the crew in the US vs. overseas? I know as I have gotten older I am less patient with stupid people 🙂 Just the cabin crew I know overseas tend to look at it as a job for a while rather than a career? My two cents….
Of this list – I have to say SQ and EK have been two of my favorites – even in economy class. Asiana does not have bad service in economy, but has been some of the best biz class service I have ever had – even compared to EK. I hope to try ANA in the near future to see how good it actually is!
Well the US airlines don’t focus training on service and its a much different mindset to the whole process. I have had great service on some US airlines but it’s a more “friends” type of service.
